Exploring Seattle

Time away from the studio is always a time filled with adventure and collectively capturing ideas. I’m loving the lower temps of the Pacific West! It makes for beautiful days in the sun walking the streets and exploring the waterways.

There is a very interesting underground below the actual downtown. They got tired of the tide coming in and things flooding so they built up the streets right around the buildings and raised the entire city. Down below the city there are all kinds of signage, furniture and beautiful architectural features from the old buildings.

Above ground the sky is cobalt blue and sending out the most beautiful clear sunlight. I’m really enjoying the vibrant colors due to the lack of humidity! These temperate temperatures make the flowers grow so beautifully.

I fell in love with this “Junk Guy”. It is one of the more creative pieces of artwork I’ve seen like this. He looked pretty happy to be amongst all those flowers with this view of the water.

The water gave these rocks an artistic pattern both from the wave and the shadows it created on them. The crystal clear water is truly beautiful to behold. It appeared to be as clear as anything you’d get out of the faucet.

This guy seemed to approve and stands a real good chance of making it to the easel. The water was so clear you could see him using those webbed feet to transport himself across the water. While out by Lake Sammamish I was also lucky enough to see a bald eagle flying above.

Days like this truly speak to my creative soul. There is nothing quite like being outdoors enjoying the sun!

Which one of these photos do you see making my easel?
